FORECASTING SECTION

The role of the Forecasting Section is to provide forecasts, warnings and current weather information for the the entire population of Solomon Islands, Agriculture, Marine, Aviation and other industries with other special purposes.

The overall objective of the Forecasting Section is to maintain round‑the‑clock nationwide weather watch, minimizing loss of life and property through the provision of timely accurate warnings to threatened communities and to contribute to the safety and efficiency of Aviation and Maritime industries.

The function of the Forecasting Section is to undertake analyses and prepare warnings, forecasts and current weather information and provide them to the public and other users.
