A fresh to strong trade wind Advisory (20 to 25 knots) is current for waters of Makira, Temotu, Rennell & Bellona Islands, southern Guadalcanal and Russell Islands.

 

Synoptic Situation

A general east to southeast trade wind flow persists over the Solomon Islands.

 

Forecast for the Western Region (Western, Choiseul and Isabel Provinces)

East to southeast winds at 15 to 20 knots with moderate seas and low to moderate southeast swells. Isolated showers and thunderstorms.

 

Forecast for the Central Region (Malaita, Guadalcanal and Central Islands Provinces)

East to southeast winds at 15 to 20 knots with moderate seas increasing to 25 knots over southern Guadalcanal and Russell Islands and low to moderate southeast swells. Isolated showers and thunderstorms.

 

Forecast for the Eastern Region (Makira, Temotu and Rennell/Bellona Provinces)

Southeast winds at 20 to 25 knots with rough seas on moderate southeast swells. Isolated showers.

 

Forecast for Honiara Port

Easterly winds at 10 to 15 knots though reaching 20 knots at times with slight seas, but  turning south to southeast tonight and decreasing. Mostly fine.

 

Tidal Predictions for Honiara

High Tide will be at 05:28 am early tomorrow morning (0.7 m)

Low Tide will be at 12:36 pm tomorrow afternoon (0.3 m)

 

Outlook for Saturday: East to southeast winds at 15 to 20 knots in most waters, reaching 25knots over waters of the Eastern Region. Low to moderate southeast swells.
