Fresh to strong winds (15 to 25 knots) Advisory is current for Isabel, Malaita and Temotu waters.

 

Synoptic Situation

A trough lies just over the southern parts of Solomon Islands and links to a slow moving low of 1004 hectopascals re-located near Vanikoro Island in the Temotu province.

 

Forecast for the Western Region (Western, Choiseul and Isabel Provinces)

Southwest  to northwest  winds at 10 to  20 knots  with slight  to moderate seas increasing to 25 knots with moderate to rough seas over waters northeast of Isabel with low to moderate north to northwest swells. Rain areas, showers and isolated thunderstorms.

 

Forecast for the Central Region (Malaita, Guadalcanal and Central Islands Provinces)

Southwest  to northwest winds at 10 to 20 knots with slight to moderate seas increasing to 25 knots with moderate to rough seas over northern Malaita waters, including Ontong Java and Sikaiana with low to moderate north to northwest swells. Rain areas, showers and isolated thunderstorms.

 

Forecast for the Eastern Region (Makira, Temotu and Rennell/Bellona Provinces)

West to northwest winds at 15 to 25 knots with moderate to rough seas over northern Temotu waters with low to moderate northeast to northwest swells.

Over remaining waters southeast to southwest winds at 10 to 20 knots with slight to moderate seas. Rain areas, showers and isolated thunderstorms.

 

Forecast for Honiara Port

West to northwest winds 05 to 15 knots reaching 20 knots at times with slight seas. A few showers heavy at times and isolated thunderstorms.

Low Tide will be at 22:20 pm tonight (0.3 m)

High Tide will be at 07:35 am tomorrow morning (0.9 m)  

 

Outlook for Wednesday:  Mostly southwest to northwest winds at 10 to 20 knots, increasing      

                                            to 25 knots over  Temotu waters including northeast Solomon waters.
